DESIGN STYLE: MODERN MISSION
YEAR BUILT: 1907
THE PROJECT: Originally built before the great earthquake of 1906, this building burned down in the quake and was rebuilt in 1907. A two story home with close to 12ft ceilings on each floor, filling this space required some ladders. Large skylights, oversized doors and windows, and light wells were utilized to bring light throughout every room. The design and finishes chosen played from the homes roots in the heart of the mission where abstraction and expressionism have healthy roots
MATERIALS: Rift sawn oak kitchen cabinets, Hickory office bookshelves, Maple bathroom vanities, 7ft tall shaker doors, modern square window and door casings and baseboard.
